Frequently Asked Questions

What is the age requirement to drive/operate a jet ski?

16 and older can operate a jet ski!

How far from downtown Pittsburgh are you?

We are simply a short 7 minute jet ski ride to Point State park from our starting point in Sharpsburg!

There are no locks to get through and it is a straight shot to get to downtown quickly.

Please note that it takes an extra 10 minutes during weekends because of the no wake zone to get all the way to point state park. The no wake zone starts at Veterans bridge which is just before PNC Park and the Convention center.

What is the weight limit for each jet ski?

The maximum weight limit allowed is 400 pounds, although we don’t recommend you exceed 350 pounds to prevent flipping.

What is the age requirement to be a passenger?

None! Up to your comfort level on who you bring with you. You must be 16 years old to operate though.

How many people can fit on each jet ski?

There are 3 seats on each of our jet skis, although we don’t recommend more than 2 adults. The 3rd passenger can be a child under the age of 12.

Are the customers responsible for damages done to jet skis during the rental period?

Yes, the customers are responsible for any damage done to the jet ski during your period of rental.

Are the customers responsible for fueling?

No, we factor the fueling costs into all of our prices and fuel up before or after rental periods.

How much does it cost to rent a jet ski?

Our prices vary by day and start time to help make this experience affordable for everyone by offering plenty of discounts during the weekdays! Weekends are more expensive than weekdays.

How do we book?

All booking is done right here through our website! Live availability and pricing can be found here.

Do I need a PA Boaters certificate?

While we strongly recommend all of our customers obtain a PA Boaters certificate, we can offer temporary certificates to our customers. See our PA Boater Safety page for all info on obtaining temporary certificates!

What does “No Wake Zone” mean?

No wake zone means you are not allowed to create a wake with your vessel in those areas, which means you must go roughly 5 miles per hour or slower. There are no wake zones within 100 feet of all marinas, as well as Point State Park from 3pm Friday – 11:59pm Sunday, as well as all holidays. During the week the only no wake zones are in front of marinas!

Do I need to bring a life jacket?

We have life jackets all the way from infant sized up to 4XL that are available for use.

Do we need to bring a wet suit?

We do not have wet suits available for customers, so if you’d like to wear a wet suit you will need to bring your own.

What happens if we have to cancel a reservation due to poor weather?

If we have to cancel your reservation for any reason, you will receive a full refund.  We will always refund if it is raining and you would like to cancel or rebook to another day, although the only reason we will be forced to cancel a reservation is if there is lightening.

Can we bring our phones with us?

We offer dry bags to all customers and each jet ski has a dry compartment you can use so you can safely bring your phone out on the water with you.
